The early onset for winter 2011 has been predicted by several meteorologists with some suggesting snowfall as early as October or November will bring potential misery to millions of drivers.

Experts from the Met Office, NetWeather & Exacta Weather have all predicted plummeting temperatures with some suggesting heaviest snowfalls between November and January with below average temperatures between December and February.

Avon Tyres have released their latest ultra high performance tyre, the ZZ5. The new Avon ZZ5 tyre has been designed to achieve supreme handling and maximum grip in both wet and dry conditions.

The Avon ZZ5 has been designed, developed and tested on some of Europes most challenging roads and race circuits including dynamic high speed durability testing at the Nürbergring in Germany. UK Winter Tyre Stocks Already Running Dry

With winter just about upon the UK, Event Tyres have already seen tyre manufacturers and tyre wholesalers struggling to meet the increased demand for winter tyres. With drivers remembering the chaos caused by the wintry weather in 2009 demand for cold weather winter tyres in 2010 has never been higher and unfortunately the manufacturers in the UK are failing to meet the sheer demand for winter products.

Event Tyres predicted this exact scenario last year and pre-ordered thousands of winter tyres to ensure the majority of our customers were able to find what they wanted at a reasonable price. Event Tyres still have good availability on some of the most common tyre sizes and can fit them at your home or work address. Remember though, these stocks are also going to run low soon as we currently have a huge demand for winter tyres.

Tyre Hotels – Good or Bad Idea ?

Event Tyres are keen to hear opinions on whether customers removing their summer tyres for the winter season are willing to let a “tyre hotel” take care of them until they are ready to have them re-fitted.

A tyre hotel is a warehouse facility where a company removing your tyres will store them and return them to you at a late date.

An initial survey by Event Tyres suggested in theory the idea was good but in practice it was riddled with problems created by tyres getting “lost” and customers having the “wrong original tyres returned”
